Fakenham-based training and consultancy company People Focus (Europe) has received further recognition for its innovative and effective training. As a longstanding supplier to Honda (UK), People Focus was commissioned to work in partnership with the car manufacturer in producing a thought-provoking seminar to bring environmental issues to the fore within Honda's dealer network. The result of this project received recognition when Honda (UK) won the top environmental award in the 'Oscars' of the motor industry, the Motor Trade Industry Awards. The award was in recognition of Honda's industry-leading Green Retailer programme, which successfully placed environmental initiatives on the business agenda of the company's franchised network. Holden Honda, part of the Holden Group, in Norwich, attended the People Focus seminar and was so motivated by the content that Steve Culley, general manager of the dealership, reported back to the company, which has now initiated an environmental policy across the group. Steve Askew, managing director of People Focus, said it showed that when training was well developed, relevant and well-delivered, it could have a huge impact on a business.
